Saudi Arabia’s President of Religious Affairs, Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, has launched the operational plan for Ramadan season at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
The plan is anchored on seven core objectives aimed at enriching the spiritual experience of pilgrims and worshippers through moderation, balance, and the provision of high-quality religious services, supported by modern digital innovation and global outreach.
As part of the initiative, more than one hundred programs and projects will be implemented, including initiatives such as the Hidayah Hackathon, designed to develop technological solutions that enhance worship and religious engagement.
The strategy also places emphasis on digital transformation, with the introduction of smart applications, artificial intelligence-powered Qur’anic recitation tools, and real-time crowd-monitoring sensor technologies to improve safety, organization and overall worshipper experience.
In the area of language and global outreach, translation services will be expanded to cover more than forty international languages across forty-nine stations, ensuring the global dissemination of the religious messages from the two Mosques.
Additionally, a new Hidayah Center is set to operational ahead of Ramadan, focusing on religious guidance, awareness programs, and scientific lessons for worshippers.
For effective implementation, over eight hundred and fifty specialized personnel, including Imams, Muezzins, Scholars, and technical staff, will be deployed across the Mosques.
The operational framework is expected run through ten specialized tracks covering academic, media, volunteer, and women’s affairs, among other key sectors.
Volunteer participation will also be strengthened, with over eight thousand volunteer opportunities created, particularly to support the management of Iftar services during the holy month.
Meanwhile, religious arrangements have confirmed that the Taraweeh prayers will consist of ten rak‘ahs, followed by three rak‘ahs of Witr.
