Today’s engagements of the Ghana Hajj Agents Association formed a comprehensive and productive prelude to the 2026 Hajj operations and the upcoming executive elections.
Medical Briefing (Ghana Hajj Board)
The day began with a briefing by the Medical Team of the Ghana Hajj Board, who took accredited agents and their sub-agents through the medical requirements and protocols for Hajj 2026. The team announced plans to roll out health education campaigns and to engage the Ghana Health Service to establish designated immunization centres nationwide. As outlined, all pilgrims will undergo medical screening, be issued health certificates, and have their records uploaded as a prerequisite for registration.
IT Engagement
This was followed by an engagement with the IT Team, who provided a detailed walkthrough of the agent dashboard and payment-registration platform. Agents were introduced to new features added to enhance efficiency, transparency, and ease of use.
GCB Collaboration & the New Hajj Account
Subsequently, a delegation from Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), the official bank for Hajj 2026, met with agents to outline areas of collaboration, operational requirements, and the newly introduced Hajj Account. The team leader took the opportunity to clarify and apologize for remarks made during the account launch, explaining that they were directed at fraudulent individuals and not accredited agents.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
An Annual General Meeting (AGM) followed, during which progress made in previous years was reviewed, outstanding issues were discussed, and modalities for the acceptance of sub-agents were thoroughly examined. Agents with unresolved concerns were invited individually before the elders, who successfully mediated and resolved the issues.
Vetting of Candidates
The final activity of the day was the vetting of candidates for the forthcoming Ghana Hajj Agents Association Executive Committee elections.
