President Mahama reconstitutes National Hajj Committee; Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko named chairman

The committee is tasked with overseeing the planning, coordination, and successful organization of Ghana’s annual pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Mecca.

The reconstitution follows the President’s commitment to ensuring a seamless and well-managed pilgrimage for Ghanaian Muslims.

The newly composed committee is headed by Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko as Chairman and Leader. He will guide the team responsible for all logistical, financial, and administrative arrangements for the Hajj operation.

The committee’s primary mandate is to ensure that the entire process, from passport acquisition and visa processing to logistics, travel, and accommodation in Saudi Arabia is conducted efficiently and successfully for all pilgrims.
